Avatar base not included, pictured for demonstration purposes only.

Not nearly as complex as those other popular suspicious followers.

This is just a simple physbone-based friend you can easily drop onto any avatar.

Please note that this is an Accessory, not an Avatar. It requires an existing avatar to add it to.

Compatibility

• Designed to work with any VRC avatar. SDK version must be new enough to support Physbones 1.1 (3.2.0 or newer, in theory).
• Quest-compatible version included (drone eye look not supported on Quest due to lack of support for animation constraints)
• Version 3 and up require Unity 2022.3.22f1 or newer.

Requirements

• An existing VRChat avatar project to add this to.
• Some knowledge working with VRChat avatars in Unity
• Current Version of Unity 2022 for VRChat (2022.3.22f1 or newer) for Windows
• Latest VRChat Avatar SDK 3 (Made with VCC SDK 3.6.0)
• (Optional) VRCFury 1.912.0 or newer

Optional

• Blender 3.6 LTS or newer (only required to customize models)
• Photoshop CS6 or newer, or other image editor that supports PSD files (only required to customize textures)

Patch 2 - 1/13/2024

• Update SDK to 3.4.2.
• Adjust physbone radius curve to make grabbing more reliable.
• Update packed metallic map using blender compositor.
• Adjust texture import settings to match recent best-practices.

Patch 3 - 06/03/2024

• Add VRCFury version of the Prefab (optional).
• Add Furality Umbra themed textures and materials (optional).
  • Add VRCFury prefab to link the drone with the Furality Umbra edition Eclipse (optional).
• Move physbone to drone-follow-root to prevent it picking up other random children as physbone transforms.
  • Move drown-follow-mid to above the drone so that the wings tilt the correct direction for the direction of movement.
  • Take advantage of new physbone settings to make drone move much more smoothly.
• ⚠️ This version was created in Unity 2022 and thus likely only works in Unity 2022.3.22f1 or newer!
  • Furality Umbra materials and VRCFury variants will not work in older versions on Unity.
  • The base prefab appears to continue to work fine, but no guarantees!
